There will be a major maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) facility in Istanbul Airport. The facility, which will have a total covered area of 667,256 square meters, is planned to include 17 different buildings. The aviation campus will include storage, logistics, office buildings, maintenance and repair hangars, paint hangars, a training academy, a general administration building and more.
To supply concrete for this giant project, Boğaziçi Beton has signed a ready-mixed concrete production and supply contract with Kalyon Construction for the Turkish Airlines Istanbul Airport MRO Facilities (Phase 2) Civil Construction Project. In accordance with the announcement made to the Public Disclosure Platform, approximately 250 million Turkish lira worth of ready-mixed concrete will be produced and supplied within the framework of the project.
When the project is completed, the facility, which is expected to be among the five largest MRO facilities in the world, will play an important role in aircraft maintenance and repair. The installation of a mobile ready-mixed concrete plant in Arnavutköy was also included in the project.
