According to the foreign trade data for iron and steel products, iron and steel import values for March increased by 1.1 percent and reached the level of 2.61 billion dollars. When compared with other foreign trade product groups, it was seen that iron and steel trade values were the third highest product group.
When the data is evaluated for the first quarter, it was determined that iron and steel imports were at the level of 5.97 billion dollars with a decrease of 24.8 percent.
While the export figures for iron and steel product groups for March took the tenth place among the export figures of other products, the recorded export value decreased by 51.1 percent compared to November of the previous year and amounted to 819.89 million dollars. Accordingly, the export values of iron and steel goods decreased by 1.9 percent and remained at the level of 954.77 million.
The export values determined for this year decreased by 49.3 percent annually and amounted to $2.09 billion. Export figures for iron or steel goods decreased by 0.8 percent year on year to $2.50 billion.
