Nickel trading on the London Metal Exchange (LME), one of the leading platforms of global metal trade, was suspended in 2022 due to transaction confusion.
Since the incident in question, the markets had begun to approach the LME management with hesitation.
Subsequently, the London Metal Exchange decided to modernize its electronic trading system. The new system was expected to be completed in 2023, but it is said that it will be postponed for another year due to various deficiencies in the system. It is thought that postponing this modernization, the cost of which is not clear, will shake the market's confidence in the LME again.
