RUSAL, one of Russia's leading aluminum suppliers, said its 2023 sales have recovered following the London Metal Exchange's (LME) decision not to impose a ban on the trading and storage of Russian metals in its system.
It has been announced that RUSAL has sold more than 76% of its primary aluminum and value-added production by 2023, exceeding the company's initial estimates.
In October, the LME published a discussion paper on a potential ban on new Russian metals, and then announced on November 11 that it had decided not to impose a ban on Russian metals as a significant number of buyers in the market were still planning to buy the metal.
