List of the world's top steel producing companies in 2022 published

The World Steel Association (worldsteel) published the full list of the top steel producing companies in 2022. The top 5 companies in the list remained stable.

List of the world's top steel producing companies in 2022 published

World Steel Association (worldsteel), the top five of the most steel producing companies in 2022 remained unchanged. As in 2021, China-based Chine Baowu Group took the first place with the title of the world's most steel producing company. The company produced 131.84 m/t of steel in 2022, an increase of 1% compared to 2021. Luxembourg-based Arcelormittal, which followed in second place, preserved its place in the list with 68.89 m/t steel production, down 13.1%. Arcelormittal produced 79.26 m/t steel in 2019.

3 Chinese companies in the top five and 11 in the top 20

China-based Ansteel Group ranked third with 55.65 m/t of steel production without any loss or increase in production, while Japan-based Nippon Steel Corporation maintained its fourth place with 44.37 m/t. Shagang Group, also a Chinese company, ranked fifth in the list with 41.45 m/t steel production.

While 6 of the top 10 companies in the list were Chinese companies, India ranked tenth with Tata Steel. Japan maintained its fourth place with Nippon Steel, while Iran rose from twenty-third to twentieth with IMIDRO. IMIDRO produced 18.00 m/t of steel in 2022. China ranked in the top twenty of the list with 11 companies, while Japan, India and South Korea were in the top twenty with two companies.
