Lindian Resources, an Australian mining company, has entered into a six-year agreement with C&D Logistics, a Canadian logistics company and freight forwarder, for the supply of bauxite. The bauxite will be sourced from Lindian's Gaoual bauxite project in Guinea.
According to the agreement, Lindian will provide C&D Logistics with a total of 23 million wet metric tons of bauxite. The supply quantities are as follows:
3 million wet metric tons in both 2025 and 2026, 4 million wet metric tons per year from 2027 to 2029, and an increased supply of 5 million wet metric tons in 2030.
To meet the requirements of the agreement, Lindian's bauxite must have a minimum grade of 49% aluminum oxide (Al2O3) and a silica content of no more than 8% silicon dioxide (SiO2).
This arrangement marks an important development in the steel industry.
