Liberty Galati, the Romanian unit of British steelmaker Liberty Steel Group, had suspended blast furnace No. 5 in October last year and also temporarily curtailed operations of the same blast furnace over the Christmas period due to problems with sufficient raw material supply. However, it is now reported that the company will resume operations of the blast furnace in the coming weeks.
Even though Liberty Steel Group has not yet made an official announcement on the situation, the expected reactivation, which is anticipated to take place in the coming weeks, is likely to eliminate the disruptions in Liberty Galati's production processes and continue the increase in steel production.
Still, the company's silence on the issue remains unclear.
