Kyrgyzstan has imposed a ban on the export of scrap

According to the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic dated August 15, 2024, a temporary ban on the export of scrap metal has been introduced in the country.

"To establish a ban for a period of six months on the export from the Kyrgyz Republic of scrap and waste of ferrous metals, ferrous metal ingots for remelting, classified by code 7204 of the EAEU TN VED, introduced three days after the date of entry into force of this resolution," the press service of the republican cabinet of ministers reported.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce has been instructed to notify the World Trade Organization and the Eurasian Economic Commission about the introduction of a temporary ban.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to notify the CIS Executive Committee in accordance with the established procedure about the introduction of a temporary ban.

The Customs Service and the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security have been instructed to take the necessary measures aimed at preventing the illegal export of goods.
