Kroman Çelik's 94 million liras new facility in Gebze

Kroman Çelik prepared an EIA report for the 'Non-Hazardous Waste Recovery and Landfill Facility' to be built in Gebze. The company will pre-process the slag wastes to be generated in the iron and steel plant in the new facility.

Kroman Çelik's 94 million liras new facility in Gebze

In the 99 thousand 32 square metre facility, Kroman Çelik will crush and separate slag wastes in a crushing-separation unit, and the resulting material will be used for the closure of highways, abandoned quarries and open pit mines whose function has ended, and for land correction.

A cost of 94 million 320 thousand liras

Kroman Çelik, which has made an EIA application for the project, foresees a cost of 94 million 320 thousand liras for the new facility to be built on an area of 99 decares. Apart from this, the company will also recover the metal steel material to be obtained by means of magnetic separator and will reuse this material as raw material in the steel mill. The waste that cannot be recovered will be disposed of in the landfill site to be built within the scope of the project.

The decision of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change is expected for the project for which the EIA process has started.
