This project provides for the prohibition of land and sea transport and the export of scrap and waste of ferrous and non-ferrous metals from the country for a period of six months. The ban, currently in effect, was first introduced on November 2, 2022, for a period of 6 months.
The reason for the extension of the ban is said to be one of the measures to combat illegal scrap smuggling and the increase in the workload of enterprises experiencing a shortage of scrap in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
