The Ministry of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan published a draft order on the introduction of a temporary ban on the export of scrap and waste of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as used pipes, rails, elements of the railway bed and rolling stock.
This norm was adopted in order to provide and load domestic metallurgical enterprises with raw materials, as the maximum processing of secondary metals within the country is a strategically important direction for the production of products of higher conversion, as well as environmental cleanliness and minimum energy consumption.
The Ministry, as an authorized body in the field of state stimulation of industry, has been working consistently over the past few years to expand the production of steel industry with a focus on domestic and foreign markets. This is a key element for the development of national industrial policy.
