Kazakh-Afghan business forum and thematic exhibition in Kabul was attended by 35 local companies from Kazakhstan.
Among the visitors were representatives of Kazakhstan's leading companies Qarmet Company (steel and mining company), Doscar Group dealership centre (Kia, Chevrolet brands), Kentau Transformer Plant, Kaspy Group (manufacture of metal structures, agricultural machinery), as well as manufacturers of laboratory tests, pharmaceuticals, oil and oil products, etc.
The Kazakh delegation, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin, outlined ambitious plans to increase bilateral trade volume to $3 billion, in line with the target set during an Afghan delegation's earlier visit to Kazakhstan. The proposed areas of cooperation include the chemical industry, mining, metallurgy, geological exploration, solid mineral processing and information technologies.
An important focus of the talks was Kazakhstan's intention to export domestically produced cars to Afghanistan, as well as plans to establish dealership centres for car service on Afghan territory. This initiative not only underlines Kazakhstan's industrial capabilities, but also represents a promising path for economic integration between the two countries.
In addition to trade talks, efforts to strengthen educational and cultural ties were also emphasised.
