The meeting, hosted by Karabük University Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Kırışık at Karabük University Guest House, was attended by Karabük Governor Mustafa Yavuz, KARDEMİR Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, President of Karabük Chamber of Commerce and Industry Fatih Çapraz, and representatives of companies gathered under the Technopark umbrella.
Speaking at the Introduction and Evaluation Meeting, Karabük Governor Mustafa Yavuz stated, "I believe that when the Governorship, the University, KARDEMİR, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and our business people come together, there is nothing we cannot achieve. Because we know very well that strength comes from unity and togetherness." Governor Yavuz expressed that they are present in every project for Karabük and emphasized that they will not lag behind in any matter. He stated, "This is a relay; we have a responsibility to carry the flag we received from our colleagues and professors who came before us further. Hopefully, we create an important model in Karabük, and we start with Technopark. As an example model, we should all work together for the well-being, prosperity, and development of our city. I thank our Rector for hosting, and I also thank all the participants."
Karabük University Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Kırışık stated that the meeting aimed to reconsider, analyze, and examine Technopark, and to discuss what could be done in Karabük, the region, and Turkey within the scope of Technopark. He said, "This is a beginning, and hopefully, in the future, we will regularly make efforts to organize our work within the framework of Technopark and how we can regulate it. We are making many discussions; we are in a process of renewal, restructuring, and creating project-based different works within the scope of Technopark. Thank God, we have made quite a progress in this regard."
KARDEMİR Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir said, "If the machines and furnaces used in iron and steel production come from outside, the added value decreases. If we focus on these and concentrate here, and because I speak in terms of iron and steel, there is much work to be done from there. I really see a lot of opportunities; I see a lot to be done. There is a lot to be said in terms of national and local technology. The place to think about these is the University, Technopark is here, and the people in the market are here."
President of Karabük Chamber of Commerce and Industry Fatih Çapraz said, "First of all, I thank you very much. I think we need to have these meetings at least once a year. The last time we gathered here, I was not on this side of the table. My late father Nazım Çapraz was among the founding members of Technopark right at the beginning. He invited all businessmen with great enthusiasm for the establishment of Technopark. In the process, our business people, our members, wonder about the working area, field of activity, employment structure, and benefits of Technopark. For this reason, I thank you for organizing this meeting. At least our business people and members will be informed. In the future, we will be able to talk about what can be done. I thank you very much."
After the presentation by Technopark General Manager Güneşer, discussions were held by protocol members and company representatives on the importance of mentorship support from academicians at the University and experts in the market for the development of incubation and pre-incubation projects and new ventures. In the meeting where the construction of the new KBÜ Technopark building was discussed, KARDEMİR Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir stated, "As KARDEMİR, we can build a new Technopark building worth 250 million TL in exchange for a 20-year lease."
