Kardemir Çelik is preparing to build a hybrid power plant in Aliağa district of İzmir, Türkiye. The Company will build a Solar Power Plant (SPP) and a Wind Power Plant with an investment value of TRY 78.3 million.
Denizli-based iron and steel producer Kardemir Çelik continues to invest in renewable energy with the self-consumption model. The power plants to be built in Hacıömerli Neighborhood of Aliağa district will produce to meet the company's electricity consumption.
The Solar Power Plant (SPP) will have an installed capacity of 1,250 MWe and will be built on an area of 1.61 hectares. The plant will use 3,120 photovoltaic panels with a unit power of 545 Wp.
The Wind Power Plant (WPP) will have an installed capacity of 3.6 MWm/MWe and will be located on an area of 1.87 hectares as a single turbine.
The energy generated in the hybrid power plant will be transmitted to Aliağa TR-30, which is fed from the 34.5 kV Belediye-1 feeder coming out of Aliağa GIS TM, and will be connected to an output cell and integrated into the system. Thus, Kardemir Çelik's electricity consumption will be met with renewable energy generated by itself.
