Stating that Karabük, where the iron-steel and casting sectors are clustered, is an industrial city identified and recognized not only in Turkey but also in the world with the sectors in question, Çapraz said, "From this point of view, we continue to support our industrial companies in our city and to produce new ways and projects to support them in order to increase employment and quality workforce in our city, which is our main goal, and to increase per capita income to the highest possible level. For this purpose, in the coming days, we have started to work on the Supporting the Development of International Competitiveness (UR-GE) Project, which is supported by the Ministry of Trade at a rate of 75 percent, which we hope will make a sound in increasing the effectiveness and field of action of our iron-steel and casting sectors in the international market, aiming to enable medium and large enterprises to enter new markets, increase our competitiveness and ensure our continuity in exports.
"Within the scope of our project, on the one hand, while ensuring competition with the rapidly developing foreign trade and international market, on the other hand, we will maintain the balances in the domestic market, protect the balances in the domestic market, use the elements of personnel training, business promotion, competition market in the right way, enter the newly developing and world's favorite markets, especially the African market, Russia and South America markets, provide the infrastructure and cooperation of government agencies required to work with new and continuous customers, ensure that the companies that are the leaders of the sector in this field enter new markets, and encourage our small and micro enterprises to start exporting and make it continuous. The Development of International Competitiveness Project is an export-oriented support program in which 75 percent of the activities to be carried out by companies that have just started exporting or want to improve their existing export capacity to increase their competitiveness in international markets during the project period are supported by the Ministry of Trade. The duration of the project is set as 3 years, and it is stated in the latest amendment to the communiqué that it can be extended for another 2 years if deemed necessary. In order to apply for the project, at least 10 companies producing in Turkey and under the roof of our Chamber of Commerce and Industry must come together with a clustering approach. At the beginning of the project, a needs analysis will be carried out in order to determine the current situation of the companies and to determine a road map for the activities they need to carry out to improve their exports during this 3-year program. In line with the needs analysis, a common plan will be created for member companies, consisting of the activities they need to complete in order to achieve their goals with a clustering approach, and training and consultancy activities, overseas marketing and procurement delegations, visits, actual and virtual overseas fairs, seminars, congresses and similar activities that can be used throughout the project will be carried out. In this context, our Chamber will develop both its responsibility as a non-governmental organization and its leading role in the trade and industry sectors together with its various stakeholders by supporting our member enterprises. As Karabük Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we, as Karabük Chamber of Commerce and Industry, continue to work without interruption in order to increase our share in exports in line with the strategic plan targets of our chamber and to increase the production of high value-added products, their capacities and employment in the province by including our new companies in the process. We wish our members to be involved in the process by providing the necessary support and contributions during the acceptance and execution of the project."
