JSW Steel's 5 million tons per annum integrated steel project at Vijayanagar, undertaken by its subsidiary JSW Vijayanagar Metallics Ltd (JVML), was one of the major drivers of the increase. JVML commissioned the 4.5 million tons per annum BOF in the second quarter of 2025 and both converters and caster machines at the steel smelter in the previous quarter of 2025. When the project reaches full capacity, Vijayanagar's crude steel capacity will increase to 17.5 million tons and JSW Steel's total crude steel capacity in India will increase to 34.2 million tons.
For the full fiscal year 2025, JSW Steel's consolidated production is expected to grow by 5% to 27.79 million tons. In addition, with a total consolidated crude steel production capacity of 35.7 million tons per annum, including 1.5 million tons in the US, JSW Steel aims to increase its consolidated steel production capacity to 43.5 tons per annum in the next 3 years as one of the leading names in India.
