Jindal Stainless, a prominent stainless steel manufacturer in India, has partnered with CJ Darcl Logistics, a logistics and transportation firm, to develop innovative lightweight, and sustainable stainless steel containers. These containers will be constructed using high-strength JT grade stainless steel, also referred to as N7 under BIS 6991 specifications, which is ideal for transporting various products, including polymers, batteries, and rubber.
Each container will utilize 2.2 tons of JT grade stainless steel, replacing the traditional carbon steel typically used for sidewalls, end walls, and roofs. Additionally, the underframes will be crafted from customized stainless steel tubes.
The high impact and fire resistance properties of JT grade stainless steel enhance the safety and durability of the containers, contributing to a longer service life. By employing this advanced material, each container's weight is reduced by approximately 500 kilograms, which leads to increased cargo capacity, enhanced fuel efficiency, and lower operating costs.
