JCB has placed its largest ever order for electric equipment in the UK after EMR, the world leader in sustainable materials, purchased 50 electric Teletruk models in a deal worth more than £3 million.
EMR recycles more than eight million tons of metals and plastics every year. To replace non-ferrous metals and end-of-life vehicles at its UK sites across the country, JCB has purchased a fleet of electric Teletruk models. Supplied by dealer Gunn JCB, these engines replace an existing fleet of competitive diesel models.
Giles Mogg, EMR's Regional Commercial Manager, said of the new investment:
"We believe we have a key role to play in helping to protect our planet for future generations. The switch to JCB electric Teletrucks is one of a number of important steps we are taking to reduce the carbon intensity of our business on our journey to becoming net zero carbon by 2040. These are productive machines that will make a positive difference to our fleet."
About the electric Teletruk models:
The JCB 30-19E and 35-22E electric Teletrucks are part of a new generation of innovative products from the JCB E-TECH equipment range that deliver zero emissions at the point of use without compromising performance. The forward reach electric forklifts feature a unique telescopic boom and can operate for a full 8 hours on a single charge. Their small turning circle and single side loading capacity make them more efficient for material handling jobs indoors and outdoors. The 35-22E has a maximum lifting capacity of 3,500 kg and a maximum lifting height of 4.00 m. At 2.00m, the payload capacity is 2,220kg. The 30-19E model has a maximum lifting capacity of 3,000 kg and a maximum lifting height of 4.00 m. The carrying capacity is 1900kg at 2.00m.
