In the second quarter of 2023, Japan's private steel production is forecast to fall by 6.1% to a total of 3.92 million tons, bringing quarterly private steel production to less than 4 million tons.
According to the second-quarter production plan of Japan's major private steelmakers, domestic demand is expected to fall by 0.6% y-o-y and exports by 18.5% y-o-y.
