In contrast, South Korea, Japan's second-largest market, reduced its imports by 42% to around 1.23 million tons. Taiwan imported 477,000 tons, a 36% decrease compared to the same period last year.
Looking at September, Japan's ferrous scrap exports decreased by 21% compared to September last year, falling to around 416,000 tons. Overall, the decline in Japan's ferrous scrap exports is seen as a result of changing demand conditions in the Asian scrap market.
