Japan increases restriction on exports to Russia

Japan added about 750 items to its export blacklist, including iron and other metals that could support Russia's industrial activities, and tightened export control to Russia. This move was considered as one of the economic sanctions that started after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

In addition, Japan has extended its already existing vehicle export ban to second-hand cars.

The new restriction will apply from 9 August 2023.
