SteelRadar, based on data gathered by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), revealed that Türkiye's steel bar imports in January 2024 recorded a significant decrease compared to the same month of the previous year. Imports decreased by 51.1% from 25,483 tons to 12,465 tons.
Imports also showed a notable decrease compared to December 2023, down by 28.7%. In December, 17,394 tons of steel bars were imported.
Iran ranked at the top of the list among the countries that Türkiye imported the most steel bars from, with 11,364 tons of imports. Iran was followed by Germany with 395 tons, Italy with 381 tons, Belarus with 148 tons and Switzerland with 125 tons. This data indicates that Iran is one of the leading suppliers of steel bar imports to Türkiye.
