Recently, several Italian steel mills have resumed operations with limited operations and employees.
Apart from ArcelorMittal Italy, Arvedi and Marcegaglia and some others not completely shut down, Italy's Acciaierie Venete and AFV Beltrame Group have resumed production and shipments within the past week.
For example, IRO has started shipping and has applied to the local manager for the resumption of production, while Pittini Group will resume production on 3 April. Duferdofin-Nucor, Acciai Speciali Terni, Lucchini RS and Feralpi Group resumed operations but reduced their activities.
At the same time, the market was waiting for the Italian government to issue a new wave of decrees to relax the blockade measures and approve the restart of several supply chains. Also, public investment plans were expected to resume, with some construction sites starting to work.
