Brazil is rich in important minerals such as iron ore, gold, aluminium and bauxite. According to the Brazilian Mining Association (IBRAM), iron ore leads Brazil's mineral production and will account for more than 61% of Brazil's total mineral production in 2022.
Brazil is the world's third largest mineral producer, accounting for 13.1% of global mineral production, and iron ore is the most important mineral in Brazil.
75% of the investment cost of Brazil's iron ore industry is used for port and logistics transport, which means that more investment is generated for transport than for the mining process.
