SteelRadar analysts compiled data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) and the Undersecretariat of Customs' preliminary foreign trade data to show that Türkiye's iron and steel import value in April 2024 decreased by 17.9% to $1.99 billion compared to the same month last year.
In April, the value of iron and steel imports ranked sixth in the list of products with the highest import value.
January-April period of this year decreased by 6.9% compared to the same period of last year to $7.82 billion.
The import value of iron or steel products ranked 14th in the list of the country's products with the highest import value in the mentioned month.
In April, the import value of iron or steel goods increased by 5.3% compared to the same month of the previous year to $ 343.15 million, while in the first four months of the year it increased by 2.3% compared to the same period of the previous year to $ 1.32 billion.
