Iraq's Prime Minister, Mohammed S. Al-Sudani, has inaugurated the Al-Dhawari Iron and Steel Factory in Sulaiman Bek, Salah al-Din Governorate, via video conference.
This event marks a significant milestone in Iraq's industrial development. The factory, a private-sector initiative, is designed to produce 570,000 tons of steel annually, including reinforcing steel, multi-purpose steel beams, and steel billets.
The project underscores the Iraqi government's commitment to fostering private-sector industrial growth and addressing the rising demand for construction materials, driven by over one million housing units currently under development.
The Al-Dhawari Company, owned by the Albayati family, has expanded its operations significantly since its establishment in 2008. Its facilities now include a propane plant, a chemical plant, and a top-tier oxidize plant that produces high-quality asphalt, gas oil, and diesel. The Al-Dhawari Iron and Steel Factory represents a model for industrial progress in Iraq, aligning with the nation's broader economic goals.
