Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe has announced a major investment project worth approximately $1 billion at the International l Ukraine Recovery Conferenc (URC2024) in Berlin. The project includes the construction of the second stage of Interpipe Steel's electrical steel production complex and a new production facility for the production of "green" flat steel.
''In post-war Ukraine, we expect a significant deficit in the supply of rolled steel. In addition, we can see a constantly growing demand for green steel in the European Union. The proposed project is designed to satisfy this demand. However, its implementation will require significant debt financing from MFIs. We hope that the Ukraine Development Fund will become the tool that will help to prepare this project,'' said Fadi Hraibe, Chairman of the Board of Interpipe.
Interpipe's project is in alignment with the European Green Deal, which envisages a 55 % reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and zero emissions by 2050.
