Mitsubishi Steel aims to strengthen its cooperation with Jatim through investment and also assist its major customers in the automotive and machinery manufacturing industries, by increasing demand from Indonesia and other countries in Southeast Asia.
Mitsubishi Steel started providing technical support to Jatim in 2010. Now Japan's Mitsubishi Steel Corporation will increase 500 billion rupiah (about US$32.4 million) of capital to its Indonesian subsidiary Jatim Taman before the end of this month for capacity expansion and shareholding to meet the rapidly growing demand in the ASEAN market. Thus, the capacity ratio will increase from 66.54% to 74.98%. The steel plant is currently operating at full capacity.
