India has offered to supply special steel for Saudi Arabia's NEOM mega city project. The project, worth around USD 1.5 trillion, is one of Saudi Arabia's largest investments.
India's initiative aims to strengthen trade relations between the two countries and increase cooperation, especially in sectors such as electric vehicles, renewable energy, power generation and natural gas. They are also exploring partnership opportunities in the supply of heavy machinery through Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), one of India's leading companies.
India's Minister of Heavy Industries HD Kumaraswamy announced the proposal after a meeting with Saudi Arabia's Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef. During the meeting, the two countries exchanged ideas on enhancing cooperation in areas such as automotive, steel, mining, clean energy and electric mobility. Kumaraswamy emphasized that these contacts will create new trade opportunities for both countries.
