This growth can be attributed to capacity expansion and increased capacity utilisation at Indian steel mills, which are expected to continue to support production growth in the second half of the fiscal year.
During this period, India's processed steel consumption increased by 14.8% to around 64 million tonnes. In contrast, exports decreased by 10.3% y-o-y to 3.23 million tonnes, while imports increased by 13.3% to 2.9 million tonnes.
