According to incoming data, an increase of 12.29% has been recorded in India's coal production so far.
Coal production in FY24 (as on December 25) stood at approximately 664.37 million tonnes (MT) as against 591.64 MT in the same period of the previous fiscal. In addition, the coal shipment rate increased by 11% compared to the same period last year. It is also thought that this increase will provide a strong coal supply to meet the needs of the energy sector.
Additionally, coal shipments to the energy sector increased by 8.39% to 577.11 mt from 532.43 mt in the same period last year.
According to the data, India's overall coal stock was recorded at 91.05 MT, i.e. 21.57% higher than the 74.90 MT recorded in FY23.
