India's natural resources company Vedanta reported that its iron ore production in the second quarter of the fiscal year was 1.3 million tons, down 10% from the previous quarter and also down 10% from the previous quarter.
The decline was mainly due to scheduled maintenance in the state of Karnataka and lower iron ore operations caused by the monsoon season.
During the reporting period, Vedanta's iron ore sales amounted to 1.3 million tons, down 13% y-o-y.
