The Ministry of Finance of India has announced that NMDC Steel's steel mill in Chhattisgarh has been put up for sale.
According to the statement, there is a deadline for interested buyers until 29 December. Until 27 January 2023, they can submit formal applications independently or as part of consortia.
The facility, which is expected to be completed in March 2023, has a blast furnace with a capacity of 4,500 cubic meters. It is expected to produce hot rolled steel with a thickness of 1.0 to 12 mm.
Built since 2013 by NMDC, India's largest state-owned iron ore company, the plant is in the process of being transformed into a subsidiary, NSL (NMDC Steel Limited).
