The Investment Support Bureau of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh has approved several investment projects, including the construction of Kadapa Steel Plant, the metallurgical plant of India's largest steelmaker JSW Steel.
In the first phase, it will invest 33 billion rupees (approximately $400 million) in a steel production capacity of 1 million tons per year. Total investment will reach 88 billion rupees (just over $1.05 billion).
An enterprise project for the production of high-quality flat products with an annual capacity of 3 million tons in the state of Andhra Pradesh was developed in 2020. The project, which is said to be built by Korean Hyundai Steel, was canceled due to the covid epidemic.
