India is close to Turkey's scrap imports!

According to the data released, Turkey's scrap imports decreased by 23% in the first 6 months of the year compared to the same period of the previous year. India increased its scrap imports to the highest levels in the first 6 months of the year. India is close to Turkey's scrap imports!

According to the data released, Turkey's scrap imports decreased by 23% in the first 6 months of the year compared to the same period of the previous year.

India increased its scrap imports to the highest levels in the first 6 months of the year. In the January-June period, scrap imports from the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and Canada drew all the attention. In addition, scrap imports from the USA are also quite high.

While Turkey has been at the highest level in scrap imports from past to present, India approached Turkey's scrap imports in the January-June period of this year.

In the first 6 months of the year, India's scrap imports were 5 million 250 thousand tons, while Turkey's scrap imports were 9 million 610 thousand tons. Although India's scrap imports increased by 158% in the 6-month period of 2023, it could not exceed Turkey's scrap imports.

In the January - June period, Turkey's scrap imports from Europe were 5 million 449 thousand tons, while India's scrap imports from Europe were 560 thousand tons.

Thus, Turkey's scrap imports from Europe exceeded India's scrap imports for 6 months.

Turkey's scrap imports from the US are 1 million 990 thousand tons, while India's scrap imports from the US are 1 million 160 thousand tons. India's scrap imports from the United States approached Turkey's scrap imports from the United States by 830 thousand tons.


India's scrap imports from the UK, UAE and Canada exceeded Turkey's scrap imports from these countries.

While Turkey's scrap imports from the United Kingdom were 733 thousand tons, India's scrap imports from the United Kingdom were 830 thousand tons.

The UAE's scrap exports from Turkey reached 355 thousand tons, while scrap exports from India reached 370 thousand tons.

Canada's scrap exports from Turkey reached 187 thousand tons, while its scrap exports from India reached 190 thousand tons.

In the first 6 months of the year, Turkey imported no scrap from South Africa, Yemen, Brazil, Kuwait and Malaysia, while India's scrap imports from these countries ranged between 150 and 180 thousand tons.
