India and Japan held talks to examine cooperation and decarbonization in the steel industry. Steel Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia with the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Nishimura Yasutoshi in the statement made after the meeting, it was shared that both countries decided to support the cooperation between the public and private sectors.
The statement also stated,It was stated that both sides emphasized the importance of following a policy approach that takes into account the conditions of each country's industry, with the basic principle of sustaining both economic growth and the low carbon transition in the steel industry.
Another meeting is scheduled for November 2023, which will focus on improving energy efficiency and new technologies for the decarbonisation of steel production.
