According to customs statistics, Taiwan's exports increased by 17.7% in October compared to September. Taiwan exported about 9,100 tonnes of stainless steel wire rod, with an average export price up 3.9%.
The largest proportion of exports was to South Korea, totalling 94.8 tonnes, up 2,400% month-on-month. This was followed by Thailand in second place with 10.4 tonnes per month. Exports of 16.2 tonnes to China, up 1,100% month-on-month, ranked third.
Import volume in October was 864 tonnes, down 20.7% from September. The average import price decreased by 3.7% in this period. Japan emerged as the largest source country, with imports falling 40% month-on-month to a low of 490 tonnes.
