In December 2023, the US section beams exports decreased

The exports of section beams from the United States experienced a decline in December 2023 compared to the previous month and also in comparison to the same period of the previous year.

Açıklama: Based on data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), in December 2023, the United States exported approximately 22,100 tons of section beams, encompassing various types such as U, I, H, L, and T section steels. This marked a 10% decrease compared to the previous month and a 23% decline from the same month in the preceding year.

The largest share of exports belongs to Canada

Notably, the largest portion of these exports went to Canada, amounting to around 15,600 tons, representing an 11.2% decrease from the previous month and a 2.4% decrease from the same period last year. Mexico followed as the second-largest destination with roughly 4,600 tons, indicating a 20.3% decrease compared to the previous month.

The export value declined by 28.1% y-o-y

Throughout this period, the total export value reached approximately US$27 million, showing an 11.7% decrease month on month and a 28.1% decrease year on year.
