Among the reasons for the decrease in consumer inflation in March was a slowdown in food inflation. Food inflation, which was recorded as 2.6% annually in February of last year, decreased to 2.4% in March, showing a decrease of 0.2%. Food prices recorded a 1.4% decrease in March compared to February.
On the other hand, producer price index experienced the fastest decrease in the past 1.5 years. Producer price indices, which have been quite low since June 2020, decreased by 2.5% in March compared to the same period last year. In February, prices had decreased by 1.4%. Producer prices did not show any variation compared to the previous month in March.
