Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) published the house sales statistics for March 2025. According to the data, a total of 110 thousand 795 houses were sold in Türkiye in March with an increase of 5.1% compared to the same month of the previous year.
Among the provinces with the highest number of house sales, İstanbul ranked first with 19 thousand 820 units. Ankara followed the capital with 10 thousand 203 house sales, while 7 thousand 513 houses changed hands in İzmir. On the other hand, Ardahan (28 houses), Bayburt (33 houses) and Tunceli (63 houses) were the provinces with the least number of house sales.
20.1% increase in the first quarter
Looking at the January-March period of 2025, an increase of 20.1% was recorded in house sales. Total sales figure reached 335 thousand 786.
Strong increase in mortgaged sales
In March, mortgaged house sales increased by 41.5% compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 18 thousand 225. This figure corresponds to a share of 16.4% in total sales. In January-March period, mortgaged sales increased by 87.3% to 51 thousand 729.
In March alone, 4 thousand 331 of the mortgaged sales were first-hand sales. In the first three months of the year, first-hand mortgaged house sales were recorded as 12 thousand 143.
Steady course in second-hand and other types of sales
Within the scope of other sales types, 92 thousand 570 houses were sold in March. There was a limited increase of 0.1% in this area compared to the same month of the previous year. Its share in total sales was realized as 83.6%. Looking at the January-March period, house sales through other types of sales increased by 12.7% to 284 thousand 57.
