Antalya led the housing sales to foreigners in Türkiye with 931 houses. Istanbul ranked second with 758 houses, while Mersin ranked third with 294 houses. However, in the January-October period, house sales to foreigners decreased by 44.4 percent compared to the same period last year and fell to 30,599.
According to the nationalities of the country, the most housing sales were made to Russian citizens. In October, Russian citizens took the first place by buying 713 houses from Türkiye. Russia was followed by Iran with 235 houses, Germany with 152 houses and Ukraine with 138 houses.
On the other hand, mortgaged house sales in Türkiye decreased by 58 percent in October compared to the same month last year and became 5,577. Mortgaged house sales in the January-October period decreased by 31.2 percent to 166,461. In October, 1,369 of the mortgaged sales and 50,234 of the sales in the January-October period were recorded as first-hand sales.
Other house sales in Türkiye decreased by 1.4 percent to 88,184 in October. The share of other sales in total house sales was recorded as 94.1 percent. In the January-October period, other house sales decreased by 9.9 percent to 827,374.
In October, the number of first-hand house sales decreased by 10.6 percent to 29,230. The share of first-hand house sales in total house sales was determined as 31.2 percent. In the January-October period, first-hand house sales decreased by 13.6 percent to 297,827.
Second-hand house sales in Türkiye decreased by 7.8 percent to 64,531 in October. The share of second-hand house sales in total house sales was 68.8 percent. In the January-October period, second-hand house sales decreased by 14.6 percent to 696,008.
