Hot rolled coil prices of Chinese origin have declined in Vietnam

Chinese suppliers have reduced their prices due to weakening market conditions and a decrease in steel futures in China. Despite market participants being away due to the extended Lunar New Year holiday, trading resumed effectively this week.

Hot rolled coil prices of Chinese origin have declined in Vietnam

Offer prices for hot rolled coils of Q235 and Q195 quality, with thicknesses ranging from 3-12 mm, are around 550-555$/ton CFR Vietnam. On Tuesday morning, several deals were made for Q235 hot rolled coils at around 550 $/ton CFR. However, it was reported that buyers lowered their offers in the afternoon, and further deals did not materialize.

A trader from Ho Chi Minh City noted a sharp decline in HRC prices and mentioned that a small order was placed at 552 $/ton CFR on Tuesday morning. However, currently, offers for Q235 hot rolled coils are coming in at 550$, with everyone offering around 545$ or lower.

The offer prices for Q235 hot rolled coils from China were around 557-558$/ton CFR Vietnam before the market closed due to Lunar New Year celebrations in early February.

The re-rolling of SAE 1006 quality hot rolled coils with a thickness of 2 mm and above from China is currently being offered at 585-590$/ton CFR Vietnam. Most of the offers for Chinese SAE 1006 hot rolled coils were around 600$/ton CFR in early February. Trade sources mentioned that they were unaware of any recent deals for SAE 1006 hot rolled coils on Tuesday.
