South Africa-based Highveld Robusteel plans to restart acquired steel manufacturing assets in three phases in December.
The assets, located in the Highveld Industrial Park in Mpumalanga, will be restarted in three phases. The first phase will involve re-commissioning two smelters, continuous casters, and plate rolling mill facilities. The second phase aims to achieve 50% production in the first year and reach full capacity in the second year. The third phase will focus on restarting the steel plant. Production will be supported by an ore off-take agreement with the Mapochs mine.
