Hascelik to increase qualified steel production with 2 new facilities

Hasçelik plans 2 new production facilities. Hasçelik, which currently employs more than a thousand people with a total of 5 production facilities in Kocaeli and Konya and 12 steel service centers, 3 of which are abroad, reached a turnover of approximately 500 million dollars last year.

Stating that they increased the number of countries to which they export to 67 and evaluating the new investments, Adnan Naci Faydasıçok, Chairman and CEO of Hasçelik, said: "Our investment in the chrome plated shaft facility in TOSB - Automotive Supply Industry Specialized Organized Industrial Zone has become the most modern facility in Europe in this field. We plan to open this facility, which has an investment cost of 35 million euros and employs 200 people in the first stage, in November. In Bilecik, we made the start for the steel mill investment that will be operational in the last quarter of 2024. The investment cost for this production facility will be 150 million euros. Here, we will produce Türkiye's most modern qualified steels and focus on exports. We attach great importance to both of our investments due to the increase in our qualified steel production and the positive contribution we will make to reducing the current account deficit. In our facility, where we use scrap preheating technology for the first time in Türkiye, we will focus on green steel production by ensuring less energy consumption and increasing energy efficiency."

Hasçelik is preparing to take steps to reduce energy costs and sustainability. They are planning to build solar power plants to increase the use of renewable energy. With these facilities, they aim to produce all their energy with clean energy in 2024.

In addition, Hasçelik's growth in steel production shows that Türkiye needs to give more support to skilled steel production. Adnan Naci Faydasıçok emphasized that growth in this area will contribute to the development of Türkiye's manufacturing sector.

Hasçelik drew attention to the difficulties in accessing financing and noted that they are seen as net importers. Therefore, he explained that they have started to take steps towards becoming a net exporter with new investments.

Finally, it was stated that Hasçelik is making efforts to increase employment and retain talent and is focusing on sustainability goals. The company plans to focus on green production by increasing its skilled steel production and using sustainable energy.

Following these announcements, Hasçelik's growth in the steel industry and its commitment to sustainability stand out.
