Mercedes-Benz, the German automobile company, and H2 Green Steel, a Swedish start-up, have entered into a supply agreement. According to the deal, H2 Green Steel will provide around 50,000 tons of steel per year to Mercedes-Benz's car manufacturing facilities in Europe. This steel is considered virtually free of carbon dioxide emissions.
In addition to this agreement, the two companies have joined forces to establish a supply chain for the production of environmentally friendly steel in North America. The aim is to cater to the local manufacturing plants of Mercedes-Benz in the region.
Mercedes-Benz has made a commitment to achieve a carbon-neutral supply chain by the year 2039. This partnership with H2 Green Steel aligns with their goal and reinforces their dedication to sustainability.
