"Global companies prefer Türkiye for production, export and management center"

Speaking at MUSIAD's 2023 Evaluation and 2024 Expectations Meeting, Bolat stated that important steps have been taken to increase Türkiye's power and reputation in the international arena, and that the country is experiencing a modern transformation with economic development and infrastructure projects. Bolat emphasized that the records recorded in export and industry and the huge investments in health and education have made Türkiye a regional power center.

Reminding that the 2023 target in exports is 255 billion dollars, Bolat said, "As our President announced last week, Türkiye's total goods exports in 2023 were 255.8 billion dollars and this was recorded as a record in the history of the Republic. In addition, 267 billion dollars in goods for 2024 and "We aim to export 110 billion dollars in services." he said.

Minister of Commerce Bolat said that since they took office, they have focused on increasing production capacity and quality, as well as increasing value-added exports based on R&D and innovation.

Stating that there is now a Türkiye that produces its own automobiles and builds its own warships, Bolat continued: "As the Ministry of Commerce, we provide our business world with all the support they need. Starting from our SMEs, we provide support to our exporters at all levels, from the export preparation stage to marketing, to domestic We provide support to every stage and step of export, from creating foreign distribution channels to becoming a global brand. In this context, last year we had a ministry budget of 17 billion lira.

We provided 11.7 billion lira support to our companies in 2023 for goods exports. Our ministry budget in 2024 was determined as 38 billion lira. We will initially provide 22 billion lira of this as grant support to our exporters. "6.5 billion liras of this will be for the services sector, and the remaining 15.5 billion liras will be for goods exporters." Bolat also stated that with the measures they took, they will curb the enthusiasm of stockists and black marketeers.

MUSIAD Chairman Mahmut Asmalı talked about MUSIAD's contributions to domestic and foreign trade from past to present and emphasized that they will always try to do better.

Asmalı said, "We express our readiness, as always, to take responsibility for the Turkish Century to have a start worthy of its name." Sharing the figures of the year-end survey conducted with MUSIAD members, he noted that the commercial volumes, profit rates of its members and the answers to the survey consisting of 24 different questions are equivalent to the data of the Turkish economy.

Asmalı “The first question we asked our members was how their domestic sales changed in 2023 compared to the previous year. While 42.4 percent of our members who participated in our survey answered this question as 'increased', the rate of those who answered 'decreased' is 39.7 percent. As you may remember, the contribution of domestic consumption to the 5.9 percent GDP growth for the first 9 months of 2023 was 10.5 points, but the weakening in the third quarter was noteworthy. "In this context, we can state that 42.4 percent of our members participating in the survey support the domestic demand-driven growth of the Turkish economy," he said.
