German plantmaker SMS Group and steel plate producer Dillinger Group have inked a collaboration deal aimed at fast-tracking the digitalization of iron and steel production. Together, they plan to create cutting-edge technology for tracking raw materials and enhancing process control in blast furnace operations.
Digital mapping of material conveyance through Advanced Raw Material Tracker enables predictive analysis, detecting irregularities. This allows Dillinger to manage hoppers with fewer staff and produce 10,000 tons of hot metal daily. Load peaks are reduced with load-optimized belt feeding, and conveyor transport of spherical goods is improved, minimizing unwanted discharges.
