Gerdau plans to shut down its rolling mill in Ontario, Canada for 6 weeks starting from the end of April to increase the production capacity and quality of its electric arc furnace (EAF) plant.
Long products such as angles, channels, flat bars and rebar are produced at the facility located in Whitby city.
The company announced that it will cover the production of other Gerdau plants to make up for the production shortage during the shutdown at the Whitby plant.
