The project, in which Flexinverter Solar Power Plant technology will be used, will be built by Ecogreen Energy in the Bor district of Niğde. This project will contribute to GE's 1.3 GW solar projects in Turkey.
With the project, a contribution will be made to the process of transition to renewable energy in the country, and by this means, the number of renewable energy sources in Turkey will be increased. According to the information obtained from the International Energy Agency, 10 GW of solar energy capacity will be activated between 2017-2027.
Niğde Bor solar power plant is a part of YEKA-GES 4 studies initiated by the Ministry of Energy in 2022. The project, which will support the energy transition within the country, will contribute to Turkey's increase in renewable energy sources and the commissioning of 10 GW of solar energy capacity between 2017-27, according to the IEA (International Energy Agency). It is predicted that Turkey's solar energy capacity will reach 52.9 GW by 2035 with an increase of approximately 500 percent.
