In a written statement from Gazprom, it was stated that Shell Energy Europe and Denmark-based Orsted did not make the necessary payment in rubles for Russian gas shipments.
EU tries to fill natural gas tanks
Emphasizing that payments for Russian gas should be made in rubles as of April 1, the statement stated that natural gas shipments to Shell Energy Europe and Orsted will be stopped completely as of June 1, since the said payment has not been made.
In the statement, it was also shared that Shell Energy Europe did not make the relevant payment for shipments to Germany and that the volume specified in the contract between the company and Gazprom was at the level of 1.2 billion cubic meters per year.
Gazprom had previously stopped natural gas shipments to Poland, Bulgaria, Finland and the Netherlands on the grounds that they had not paid in rubles.
